2 Timothy 4:7-8

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that Day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing."

We are devastated to learn of the passing of Jamone Williams, a graduate of the Class of 2020 here at Cristo Rey. Jamone was a beloved member of the Cristo Rey family and his community.

He represented the best of our school. He had a courageous spirit, a generous heart, and a charming smile. To his fellow students, Jamone was a mentor, tutor and academic coach. He was awarded the Louisiana Young Heroes Award in 2019 for his excellence in academics, public service, and leadership. He played varsity baseball, varsity basketball, and worked at Lamar Advertising for four years through the work study program. He was a wonderful young man with many talents and accomplishments.

But he is best remembered for his strength of character. Jamone was a pillar for his family, his friends, his teams, and his community. He was a fantastic son, grandson, brother, student, alumnus, and worker.

We are privileged to have known and loved Jamone Williams in our community. He will be dearly missed and forever remembered.

To Jamone’s family, we are so, so sorry for your loss. More details on how we can honor Jamone and his family will be available as we know them.
